water moyerphotos Get In The Flow of H2O YES! PowerEvery time you take a drink of water, you have a chance to power up your life.  Did you know that?  Did you know that the water you drink can help you say, “Yes!” to desires like health and happiness?

Water Speaks

If you watched the movie, What The Bleep Do We Know? (and if you didn’t, I recommend it), you may remember the work of Dr. Masaru Emoto.  Dr. Emoto is a Japanese researcher who discovered that water reacts to thought and intention.

Dr. Emoto made this discovery by studying water in a groundbreaking way.  He used high-speed photography to take microscopic images of water in a freezing cold room.

His photos captured the newly formed crystals in the frozen water samples.  These crystals reflected the state of the water at the time of the photographs.  They are water’s way of speaking to us and telling us how it feels about what it’s exposed to.

To see what water reacts to, Dr. Emoto subjected the water to many stimuli.  He taped words on the containers that held the water.  He played music for the water.  He and others spoke to the water, and he had people direct thought at the water.

What he discovered was astounding.  The beauty, or lack thereof, of the crystals the water formed was directly correlated to whether the stimulus was positive or negative.

The water formed beautiful crystals in response to the pure peaceful focus of monks, classical music, and words like love and gratitude.  And the water formed misshapen, ugly crystals, or no crystals at all, in response to angry thoughts, heavy metal music, and words like hate.

Dr. Emoto’s findings became mainstream after the publication of his book, The Hidden Messages In Water, and he took them even further in his later book, The True Power of Water—Healing And Discovering Ourselves. I have and love both of these books.  They truly open your eyes to the vibrational world around you.

A Joint Venture With Water

I was fascinated by Dr. Emoto’s work when I first read about it, and I immediately put it into action.  I drink a TON of water.  Many years ago, I read the book, Your Body’s Many Cries For Water by F. Batmanghelidj, and it made an impact.  But couldn’t I make water even more of a healthy influence in my life?  Dr. Emoto’s work would suggest that I could.

So I began taking an interactive journey with my water.  I was giving writing workshops about that time, teaching writer’s how to have a powerful, creative mindset.  At the workshops, I handed out bottles of water that had words like “Confidence,” “Creativity,” and “Brilliance,” taped on them.

I also taped words like “Health” and “Love” on the water bottle I used at home.  And I blessed my water before I drank it.  During the time I was doing this, many wonderful things happened in my life.  My health was good.  Money was flowing.

Then some splats came my way, and I forgot about talking to my water.  My labels wore out, and in the stress of what was going on, I didn’t replace them.

I still drank lots of water, but I ended the cooperative relationship I had going with it.  Recently, I started it again, and here’s why you may want to think about developing your own joint venture with water:

Hado Power

The reason water responds to thought and music is that it is sensitive to hado.  Hado is the subtle energy vibration that exists in all things.  (If you missed my post on thought energy and you have a well-developed left brain, you might want to read more about the science behind that energy.) This energy vibration is usually positive or negative, and hado is drawn to similar frequencies of hado.

To get how this works, think about tuning forks.  Let’s say you have two tuning forks with frequencies of 440 Hz and one tuning fork with a frequency of 442 Hz.  (Hz is a measurement of vibrations per second.)  If you were to hit one of the first tuning forks with a rubber mallet, the second tuning fork would give off a sound because the two are resonating on the same frequency; they’re attuned.  The third tuning fork wouldn’t react because it’s on a different frequency.

If you think of yourself as a tuning fork, you can see that you’re attuned to things that are the same vibration that you are, or rather, that your thought energy is.  This is strong incentive to get your frequency up to speed with positive things.

So what does this have to do with water?

Well, since water is quite responsive to hado, it can easily pick up the vibration of certain intents.  Dr. Emoto’s research has found that water can be turned into a physical, spiritual, and emotional healing tool when it is infused with positive vibrations.

Therefore, you can turn your water into a real “power drink” if you take some simple actions to affect the water’s vibration before you drink it.

Here are three ways to turn your water into a vibrational helping hand:

1.  Tape positive words onto your water container.

If you want to feel a certain way, like confident or happy, tape those words onto your water container the way I did for the water I gave to my workshop participants.  Dr. Emoto taped his words to water containers with the words facing inward so the water could see them.  However, I found that putting the words on facing outward seemed to have a positive impact too.  And it had the additional benefit of consciously activating an intention to feel whatever emotion the word captured.

2.  State affirmations to your water.

Before you drink your water, state a desire, worded in present tense as if it has already occurred.  Dr. Emoto calls this praying to your water, and if you pray, you can certainly do that.  You can also tape your affirmation on the water as you do your words.

3.  Interact with your water:  shake it up and talk it up.

Dr. Emoto says that when you shake your water bottle, you activate its vibrations so it’s more responsive.  He recommends you shake your water and then speak to it about your desires.

Heal Your Water

The above three ways to turn your water into a vibrational helper presumes that you’re starting with either distilled water or quality mineral water.  If you’re not, you need to give your water a little healing before it can help you.

Dr. Emoto found that tap water and water that has been exposed to the electromagnetic waves of TVs, computers, or cell phones or to microwaves forms some pretty nasty shapes … in other words, it’s not high vibrational water.  He says there’s an easy way to remedy this kind of water.  Just give it “love and gratitude.”

You can do that any of the three ways I mentioned above.  Tape the words “love and gratitude” on the water.  State the words aloud or just casually give the water love and gratitude when you talk to it.  His research showed that water given love and gratitude shows hardly any impact from harmful waves.

Water Has Big Ears

Do you ever exchange angry words and gulp down water when your mouth gets dry from yelling?

Are you ever despairing or frustrated or stressed when you drink water?

Are you ever thinking about things you don’t want while you drink water?

You probably answered yes to all three questions.

And if you did, the water that you drank in those situations helped perpetuate your negative energy because you infused it with your negative vibrations.  Ever since I learned about Dr. Emoto’s work, I treat my water the way I’d treat an honored guest—I don’t spew my negativity all over it.

Water can be a powerful ally in creating positive vibrational energy for getting Up From Splat.  And the great thing is that turning water into a helper is free and takes very little time.

Be sure you check back here on Sunday, February 13, because I’ll have a fun little gift for you that will help you access the vibrational-shifting power of water.

If you haven’t seen Dr. Emoto’s photographs of water crystals, here’s a video that has a nice selection.

I’m forever learning from you, Ande! And with 60% of our own body being water, this research gives us much to think about. I will forever think of water in a whole new light.

    Ande,

Very fascinating post! I have always heard of giving blessing over things we are going to consume and this would make sense why. I have also believe in being very conscious of the emotional energy we emit. There really is a difference that can unconsciously felt depending on the emotional energy we are vibrating at. I have seen that when I very excited, happy, and full of hope and joy people actually respond to me much differently and show more kindness and open-up. I feel this is related to an emotional energy level.

Hi Joe! Yes, I agree that that kind of responsiveness is related to an emotional energy level. I’ve read a lot about how things like water and plants respond to our energy, and it helps me remain more conscious about how I’m flowing mine. :)

What a great post! I am familiar with Dr. Emoto’s work , but have not read the books. Gonna put them on the list. This makes me want to right now.

The video is so telling and powerful. What a wonderful idea to power up my water. I have a Brita pitcher which sits on the counter and from which I drink a lot of water all throughout the day. I am going to put words on it and bless it before drinking each cup.

Now, I have to decide just what I want the message to be. So many from which to choose.

First of all, let me say that I’m a practitioner of hypnosis and positive thinking. I do believe that the three recommendations here will make a difference to a person’s outlook, and therefore their life. These are auto-suggestions, and psychological literature is full of examples of people responding in measurable and verifiable ways to this type of “priming”. It is exactly this type of influence that I would use professionally to benefit people.

I think it is relevant to note that Emoto is not trained as and does not claim to be a scientist. Nevertheless, his pseudo-title of “Doctor” and his “research” provides less skeptical and inquiring people faith in these principles. Meanwhile, those like me who do not believe in any animate qualities of water itself, only in those who may observe and drink it, will tend to reject these potentially valuable practices because the fantastical and unproven claims seem ridiculous.

I’m not here to debate the validity of his experiments, since that would be pointless. The science of physics does not give any support at all to the article’s recommendations, but it is completely unnecessary to resort to Emoto’s claims for support, as the science of psychology does tell us that practising the article’s recommendations can work!

Ironically, Emoto’s work does as much to prevent the adoption of these potentially beneficial practices as it does to further it. I’m just lamenting that the promotion of such “evidence” only polarizes skeptics and believers, rather than allowing us all to adopt and make use of the benefits of positive thinking.
