In response to your video, I recounted some of my day and opened the open doors, savoring again some of the things that went well while shopping and running errands: the grocery store A/C was comfortable; the stores were uncrowded; the mechanic replaced my “shredded” tire in record time, and I’m so happy it happened prior to vacation. Oh yeah, and for once, I was in Albertson’s at the exact time to take home warm French bread.

Thanks, Ande, for nudging us to savor more. Like Ducky, we want to pull on the socks of those open doors just for the fun of it. Ahhh.

Perfect example of how opening the open door is done, Karen! Ducky says the warm French bread sounds the best. ;)

I love this way of putting this Ande – opening the open door. I liken it to how many of us hold on to something that sucked for hours, days and weeks. Moaning and reliving it every time you see someone new. But we don’t do that so much with things that are good! I like to think that if we can complain and bitch and hold on to something bad, we already have the transferable skills to enjoy and relive the good stuff, and open the open door. Oh, and in the spirit of opening the open door: I LOVE that ducky just plays with that sock when the door is open, that’s hilarious!

That’s a really good point, Donna! We do have that skill of stretching out bad experiences … so why not transfer it? Well said! And yeah, we think Ducky’s pulling on the sock when the door is open is pretty funny. (It gets my door open. ;) )
